Middle class foodie type bloke in slagging off supermarkets shocker.
Mum has plenty of stories of her coal mineing father sneaking into farmers fields to nick the odd cabbage or cauliflower. That never happens these days, the poor are not starving - their getting fat. Good or bad the supermarkets have pretty much abolished days where meat was a once a week treat.
Whats wrong with brain and intestines etc? Agreed the added salt is the killer in such foods.
The whole justifying Veal as a viable alternative is fine in theory - it's a bit ironic that similar sensationalist food programes 15-20 years ago blessed Veal with the stigma that has killed it's popularity in this country.
Why theres not someone buying all these worthless young bulls and making a killing producing cheap meat products i dont know.
