Mobil1 15w/50 no longer stocked?

I went into Halfords to see if the Mobil1 15w/50 was on offer, but the guy there said it is discontinued and that they no longer stock it!

Instead, he entered my reg into his computer and fetched an own-brand ?5w/50? oil which I'm sure said "Petrol or Diesel" on the label. I politely declined.

Have they stopped making Movbil1 15w/50 or have Halfords just stopped stocking it?

A very high quality fully synthetic oil with zinc.

Zinc is essential for long cam life in the Rover V8

It's worth pointing out that zinc has all but been deleted from most modern oils on environmental grounds.

TBH I doubt there's much zinc in Mobil 1 these days, so the Penrite would be the better oil for your TVR anyway.

At £32.95 including VAT it represents excellent value, even with postage it's a good deal at £8 cheaper than Hafrauds were charging for the Mobil 1.

Luckily I only live 10 miles from them, so I just pop in & pick it up
