Cages, cages, cages!

Are you going to weld in floor strengthening plates? No point just bolting a cage to the floor alone, as in the event of an impact/roll it'll probably just punch through and tear the metal.
If you're fitting a cage, be sure to do it right.
All of the homologation specs i have ever seen specify a plate footing for the cage when joining it to the chassis. If you're fitting a cage, be sure to do it right.
CAMS Manual said:
Each mounting foot must be attached by at least three bolts on a steel reinforcement plate at least 3mm thick and of at least 12,000mm2 area which is welded to the bodyshell.
Thats from the CAMS manual, which is sourced from the FIA for ROPS and is for a bolt in cage option. Welded is the same except obviously without bolts.Gassing Station | UK Club Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
