500 Timing Gear

Replacing my broken front pulley bolt has turnen into a bit of a 'challenge'
Anyhoo I have a question, did the 500 engines come as standard with a double timing chain and adjustable cam shaft wheel. It would appear that the timing chain is slack and needs replacing.

It should have a duplex timing chain & vernier sprocket.

Did you put the woodruff key back in & lay a straight edge against the drive side of the chain as I suggested on Facebook Barrie?

Yes, on the side I did this there was very little movement and lots on the other side. Is that good or as it should be?
