Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has used webuyukcars.co.uk? I'm selling an MG TF and they've offered a conditional price prior to inspection etc. You have to pay about £50 for them to come out and have a look but wanted a bit more info first.

Anyone had any dealings with them before?

Thanks,
Lauren

Don't they offer you a price on line. Then when they come around to see the car they slash the price with some bullst story.Better of trying to sell to a trader or e-bay it.

If you are happy to sell for less than market value, and in addition be charged for the privilege then yes, they are perfect.

Not keen on the fact they charge you £50 just to come and inspect. Makes it very hard to say no when they offer you a price below their original offer.

If you're going to use one of these companies, why not use the one with the really annoying advert. You take the car to them and they inspect it for free. If you're not happy with the offer just drive away, you haven't lost any money.

9.a Our Fees

www.webuyukcars.co.uk charges a one-off refundable fee prior to the inspection. The fee is between £40 - £60 dependant on your location. The fee is charged to ensure you meet us at the appointment and we have not wasted our time and resources on a bogus appointment. The fee is returned to you at the appointment - even if you do not decide to sell your car to us.
Seems it is refunded though.

Cynic in me thinks the op may have some connection to the company though.

Same old pattern, could be wrong though.

Ok. Was just going off the info the OP gave, haven't actually looked at the site.

Will wait to see if the OP returns, or if it was just a way to make the site look popular when searching in Google.

I'm not trying to give the site a boost, I'm genuinely just trying to sell my car and wanted some advice. Thanks for all the feedback though!

If you google webuyanycars Pistonheads comes up a one of the top results, so it makes sense to ask here.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&...

But then I also think she would get the name correct if she was connected to the business. It's webuyanycar.com she means.
Or http://www.webuyukcars.co.uk/
(I'd avoid )

Not sure how you can say that. Employees, sub-contractors and agents don't have to access the Internet from their company's server or network y'know.

I can say that because it's a very specific business IP and if she was she would be in very hot water with her current employers.

Not all of Pistonheads is a conspiracy theory... they are a tough crowd and normally more friendly. There are a lot of "indirect" advertisers on here which probably aroused suspicion.

Stick around, it's quite a friendly crowd with some great advice when needed about all things automotive. Be careful in "The Lounge" forum, they tend to be a little bit more direct...
