Opinions on the Juke
Discussion
Hi
My girlfriend has been wanting a new car for a little while now so we went out this weekend to try all the usual hatchback options. Off on a slight tangent she also wanted to try the Juke. I wasn't particularly keen but seeing as it is for her I went along with it.
We test drove a top spec 1.5 dci which actually surprised me. Despite the strange looks and rather gutless performance I actually quite liked it. It is very well equipped, good value for money and in my opinion manufactured to a high standard. The heating/driving control interface is very clever too. I think she could do a lot worse. So she has started hunting for one but I wondered out of interest if nothing else what you guys thought on the matter?
Cheers.

They r everywhere,i thought the little pug faced monsters where stalking me for a while as every time i turn round theres one there, theres 1 nxt to me now in morrisons carpark!
In retrospect i think the kit levels cheap lease/finance offers mobility deals and a frugal diesel lump trumps the awful looks n pointless crossoverness for joe public, not for me tho!

Many will hate just because of the looks. Personally I think they look fab though. If the resat of the car is worthy, then why not?My girlfriend has been wanting a new car for a little while now so we went out this weekend to try all the usual hatchback options. ugly and their lights look out of proportion.
Doesn't make them a bad car though. Not too mention that almost no car in this sector or comparable sector is actually pretty looking. Boring and dull yes, but not pretty. The Juke might not be pretty either, but at least it isn't dull.More encouraging than I would have thought so far.
As said above the interior is a generally pleasant place to be, it is high but actually the body roll felt pretty minimal. I think it'll be a good car for her for her mostly cruising commute each day.
I shall let you have the verdict when we actually acquire one.

Fugly, diesel, and on stilts. Not for me......
Yeah but it is for the missus, If it was my missus looking for a car I would rather she bought a juke than a crappy Clio,Mini,Fiesta..(any girlie car). I would pop to the shops in her Juke as it is actually cool.As for the looks of the Juke clearly they are an acquired taste but at least it's different.
Deeply uncool, bulky, ugly, inelegant mess. Can't begin to work out how you'd see out of its rear three-quarters, and it's just got that sense of 'trying to be a 4x4' about it. Why put up with the drawbacks of a jacked-up SUV when you can't/aren't going to go off-road?
Also, cars like these always have huge tyres. How much will a puncture cost (both in the cost of a replacement tyre and the things it will destroy when veering across the road at a crazy angle when one lets go) compared to a normal hatchback of the same size?
I'd rather have a Focus, Astra, Golf, Civic or even a Proton Gen-2 before I went near a Nissan Joke.
