Hmmm.... Are you sure? The 1973 Triumph Dolomite sprint had 16 valves (albeit with a single camshaft), and any number of Alfas and Fiats had twin cams long before the BX rolled of the production line in 1982.First European car with 16 valves, Citroen BX16v. (or was it first with twin cam?

Fiats, Lancias and Alfas were available with twin cams for a couple of decades before the BX appeared.
