My beloved old Jeep Cherokee 4ltr has failed to make the grade known as an Mot. The floor has more holes than a holey thing with holes in it. Add to that a sticky caliper piston, along with fecked joints, that goes right along with whining diffs and we had to line it up and shoot it. It was taking away and buried by a scrappy fella from Edinburger.....So.....I'm needing a new thingy that can pull an 18ft Fishing Boat (on a trailer by the way for the smarty pants) along with being able to contain a mad Husky in the back. It also needs to humph around servers. pcs etc as well as B and Q stuff with runs to the tip.
I was thinking about the Mazda CX-7 with its 2.3T. How about the Hyundai Tuscon 2.2CRD? I also like the Nissan X-Trail 2.2dCi. I am open to any advice and recommendation from those more in the know than me.

the easy option would be a newer jeep cherokee, as they are seen as gas guzzlers they are pretty cheap these days if its pre 2006 reasonable for the road tax too

I thought about another Jeep. Hence the 3.0 CRD, but I always like trying something else. I was thinking as well up to about £8000.

I thought about the Disco but a friend of mine has had a lot of bother with his and it is costing him a mint. I would look at one though if I researched the pitfalls.

How off roady or on roady do you want it to be?

An £8k budget gives you a fairly liberal choice of vehicles tbh.

Santana PS10 with a 2.8 Iveco diesel engine. Lot cheaper than a D110.
