Just reading the Aberdeen Citizen, the olympic torch comes to town next Tuesday, and the powers that be have decided to close the Bridge of Dee, the A90 at Anderson Drive, and the Haudagain roundabout during rush hour Tuesday ......

Why not wait until folk get to work, or is that too difficult.

Aberdeen council leader Barney Crockett said "I think it certainly is going to pose difficulties for drivers", No st sherlock!

He added "I think people will be smart and find alternative routes", yes mate, loads of "alternative routes " through Aberdeen. I think he means "It will ps off a lot of motorists who are trying to get to work on time, and we dont give a ste, we thought about doing it outwith rush hour, but that wouldnt ps off enough motorisrs" ............

Yup, going to be hell, especially with Haudagain shut.

Might consider working early as the boss will most likely try the same.

Or I might be lucky and get offshore on Monday.

Totally agree!

Already planning to leave for work at 6am next week to avoid the Haudigan Roundbout closure, then i find out that Virginia Street will be closed, so i can't use my pass for Shiprow multi-story!

It's going to be bloody bedlam!!!

I feel so sorry for those that will be trying to get to work next week with all these planned closures.
If there is one way of getting people even more annoyed with the olympics, creating this sort of bedlam is it.

I don't understand why the council thought these closures at peak times would be a good idea.

I thought that i had managed to avoid the olympic fiasco by moving 500 miles from London.

I now work just off Anderson drive and have to cross the hardegan roundabout to to get there..

FFS.

I will be taking a very long route that morning and coming into aberdeen along the Lang Stracht (sp) instead, no doubt like thousands of other people...

Wonderful planning!

Traffic in Dyce this morning was traffic light failure.

Thankfully next week won't affect me much. I live and work in Dyce so I just walk to work.
