Hi guys, a newb here, having a hard time making a car choice - but mostly due to lack of ideas!

So... I've been through a MR2 turbo - too old, deemed reliable, but there is always the thought in the back of your head "what was that sound again". Not to mention MPG smile I have a 2007 CTR FN2 now - not liking FWD and lack of LSD (2007) and general "floatiness" of it.

So.... what I am after is... 250+ RWHP, LSD, coupe or saloon, no convertibles, manual, not a BMW... max 5 years old. Oh, and under 15k would be great!

Please mods treat me gently if this has been asked a million times and I'm sure it has..

A fn2 ctr could hardly be described as floaty, the ride is rock hard!

Ride is hard, that is true, but once you get to a corner at speed, it doesn't feel very "precise". I dont know how to better describe it.

Didn't notice the max 5 years old part. In that case, are VXR8's at this price yet?

Why no BMW? Surely there are numerous BMW's that fit this bill?
  • E90/2 335
  • E46 M3 (maybe CS)
  • BMW Z4M (Coupe or Roadster)
How about:
  • Vauxhall Monaro
  • Audi TTS (Not RWD but still)
  • Nissan 370z (if you upped the budget a little)
  • Focus RS MKII or Megans RS250 (Not RWD, but try them, probably leap years ahead of the CTR)

Wanting RWD and saying no to BMW does sadly limit choices as a Z4/Z4C would probably fit the bill quite well.

5 years old and £15k while meeting the rest might put a damper on it too.

BTW - you've said RWHP, that means you are really needing at least a 300-350hp+ car, which makes you're requirements even more unlikely to attain.

But off the top of my head:

-late 350z
-early 370z (probably not, not checked prices)
-Boxster (but probably too old)
-Corvette C6 (might be over budget)
-Corvette C5 z06 (too old and rare)
-Mustang GT s197 (pushing the budget, plus you'd want one with mods)
-Mazda RX-8 R3 (lose money like it's going out of fashion, less HP than wanted)
-Westfield or some other kit car
-Euopra S (over budget)
-VX220T
-Pontiac Solstice GXP

thanks for the replies so far. I am checking out some Z4m Coupes and definately Monaro fits the bill.

What about an E60 M5? They seem to start at around £16k for a good one, but I think you'd be pushed to get much more car for the money.
