forty years old and just finally sussed these. (it's raining out, there's not much else to do!)

anyone else here do them as part of routine? normal inverted ones with toes touching wall seem to work the same set as military press, but the handstand into pushups (heels to wall) seem to be a totally different set. i'm feeling lower lat stuff much, much more.

Just thinking about the physics of it, you'll be tensing your back more to keep your body in the right position.

Yes, pooing while upside is not a wise idea unless you fancy a snack mid-exercise.

I find these to be a great exercise for shoulder development. I usually try and do 3 sets to failure to finish my shoulder workout.

finish it? it's my whole workout!!!

what ive been looking for for ages is a non weights exercise for upper pectoral mass and slabbing. dont think this is exactly it, but it seems to be hitting round there a bit.

I'm struggling to visualise this.

Is your body at a steep angle, with your heels resting on the wall?

hehe

This is something I should really be doing to be honest. Being partially deaf, my natural balance isn't great but has been improved by an order of magnitude from weight training over the years. Stuff like this would help even more.

Interesting thread - I've been seeing folk doing these in various CrossFit sessions and had a friend at Uni (about 13.5 stone) who could bang them out but I've never done one. So, am interested to know what sort of bodyweight those who can do them are at and how it compares to weights they can military press or dumbbell press etc.

I'm 13.5/6 and could do sets of 8-10.Used Pavells handstand pushup training plan.No idea what I can press as post injury I've done very little. Can't wait to get back to them though.Had to switch to pistols and one arm pushups (narrow) to fill the gap. smile
