I saw this locally last night and grabbed a picture of it. Being a Ford Capri its before my time and I don't know much about them. All I do know is it doesn't look like other capris iv'e seen, and the sound... this sounded fking insane! wobble

I only got 1 pic and its not great, plus I managed to miss the exhausts off in the picture...

Over to you PH thumbup

The Ford Capri Perana was South African special. There was about 500 of them made and they were fitted with a 5L V8 Ford Windsor engine.

There's a good article in this months Octane magazine about them.

Either an imported Capri or engine swap.

As mentioned either a Ford Capri Perana, a Ford Capri RS3100 or a copy of either that has had a engine swap.

If it is a original RS3100 then the chassis number will start with BBECND

There used to be a chap called Jeff Uren (sadly gone) who made a Cortina Savage using a 3litre Essex and I believe it was him who also made a Capri special called a Commanche which used a Ford 302 V8.
The spoiler is definitely as used on a factory RS3100.
These "facts" are from memory and not researched so I may well be wrong.

Reg plate of UTE as in Ute. Is it perhaps an Australian import? They tend to throw V8s into Fords, since a V8 is not a UK model. If not a modded UK car of course.

Engine swap, 310Ci Chevrolet engine transplant, I suspect.

South Africa and Australia did V8 versions of our V6 cars (XR8, usually 302ci ford engines). I don't think the Capri was one of them.

The 5000 relates to engine size, ie 5000 cc, googled for that, probably a mustang engine?
