Just checked Andreas 500 as haven't used it since October and the pipe has fouled on the pulley - suspect the pipe is too long and flopped onto the pulley.
If anyones got a spare couple of foot I can replace it.
Thanks.

Paul,

I have a load of (blue) silicon vac advance tube in the garage, I'll bring it with me tomorrow.

If its for the dizzy. On or off you will not notice any difference. not on mine anyway. Mine fell off and i failed to notice. Still ticked over ok and went like the rocket. Good luck with the weather. Looks like you may have a dry window. Cheers, Eddie in NHS garage. Cambridge, 1000 beds.

The vac is there to advance the timing under light engine load for better MPG, makes no difference to power. If the pipe is left off it will let air into the plenum so it weakens the mixture, and the ECU has to compensate, which it normally does without too much complaint, although you are letting unfiltered air into the engine, so its not recommended.

Thanks Mark. Vac tube useful for checking the dizzy diaphraghm is ok. Replaced my dizzy when i sucked air through vac tube onto dizzy. Griff still went well even with split diaphraghm. As long as its not electronics, there is a built in tolerance with the rv8. A basically simple engine rendered tricky with all the add on tricky electronic, (nonsense!!??) My point of view.
