Anyone got either they want to get rid of (or know where I can get hold of the SAM missile kit)?

Got a strange attraction to the old Airfix RAF & associated vehicles at the moment. I had both kits in the past, and a few fragments of the SAM missile survive. I stumbled upon a real ones at Duxford recently and I thought they would make a great super-detail project:

I bought the Bloodhound kit recently, I think Airfix have re-released it.

I haven't started it yet though.

I've seen a few around - even the older versions, but the SAM missile I've not seen for decades. I'm not even sure that was an original Airfix mould.

Does it have to be Airfix or is it a passing interest in the subjects - Trumpeter cloned the SAM-2 set in 1/35 scale

Passing interest. I restored my old Airfix RAF tractor & bomb trolleys (included in the Stirling kit) to go with a recent model, and also built the Dapol/Airfix railway crane for another diorama. I'd forgotten how nice these models were, and decided to get some of the others again to build and maybe add some extra detail to.

I did find a Refuelling Lorry:

And a Queen Mary recovery trailer at Duxford and one of the staff kindly allowed me get some close-ups. He told me it had an interesting past: Taken to France as part of the expeditionary force, it was left behind and subsequently used by the Luftwaffe throughout the war, until being repatriated afterwards. BTW the tractor unit is not original:

I want to stick to 1:72 (or 1:76 as I think these models are in reality), and it would be nice to keep them all Airfix.

As I said I'd like to stick to the Airfix collection.

Yeah, I looked on EBay - the starting bid of £25 put me off...I have no particular reason to buy one in a mint box with all parts attached to sprues etc, I just want to build it. Within reason, even an incomplete or partially built one would be fine.
