Accomodation Half Way to Le Mans

Hello
I am going to Le Mans on Thursday next week and arrive in Calais about 5pm that day. I then will be driving down to Le Mans where I have accomodation sorted. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel stop about the half way point between Calais and Le Mans for me and a nice drive route the Friday am to Le Mans.
I know it is late in the day, but any views?

Halfway down is Rouen, in an effort to be more leisurely this year & not drive, set up camp, get supplies at Carrefour, eat dinner etc I just went onto tripadvisor & booked into 1 of the dozens of hotels available there.

Yup Rouen would be my suggestion too. I had to do a shortened trip a couple of years ago, and arriving in France around 7/8pm on Friday night, it was only an hour or sos drive to Rouen on empty roads, and the same again on the Saturday morning, arriving at the Rotunde at about 8am. We were all knackered and just stayed in an Accor not far from the railway sidings, but I would imagine the town is quite nice for a wander if you have time.

Not in our experience last year. They stuck us in an attic room where the door didn't open fully because the wardrobe was in the way. We then asked to be moved and were put in a disabled room with a shower room that had no doors, shower enclosure or curtains. The shower floor was exactly that, a flat tile floor with no pan so the room flooded and poured into the bedroom. All they offered was to supply us with more towels to mop up the floor. The only positives.... quiet area away from any trouble, a good, level and safe car park, and the restaurant food was of a good standard (albeit expensive as it is considered one of the finer dining restaurants in the area. Couldn't use the pool as it was covered up (it was raining mind) and the customer service was surly at best. They claimed we'd been given a huge discount via bookings.com (perhaps in their minds this justified their lack of attention), but at 135 EUR a night I wasn't at all convinced. We were so disappointed that we had to ask for a reduction in the final bill (we never usually bother complaining). The manager said it was up to bookings.com whether or not we would get any money back (room had been paid in advance). Truly the worst stay in a hotel we had experienced in 30 odd years of travelling. Sorry, but that's our personal but honest experience of the place.

Blimey, thats vastly different to our experience but we havent been there since Classic LM 2008. The manager found out I had wrapped my Griffith around the armco barrier on the motorway on the way to the hotel & treated us like royalty, perhaps the group booking of 30 people helped!

It would be a shame if its gone downhill.

Novotel Sud is good, cheap and a secure car park, restaurant and mc ds round the corner about 70 quid,

le Neuborg just South of Rouen is our favoured stop.

Small, prettyish town with the centre built around a large square, easy and safe parking, plenty of reasonably priced hotels and restaurants and not too far from the Autoroute.

Ticks all the boxes I reckon - it also means you are clear of that tedious trans Rouen drive during Friday morning's rush hour.......

..and looking at your impressive garage you might be tempted to travel a few miles North of le Neuborg and have a play on the old Rouen Les Essarts circuit :
