not sure whats going on with my car but it run fine last year on track , I removed the engine to do a couple of jobs end of last year and get ready for IVA test, since Ive had it registered it has developed a popping/hesitation when I put the throttle on after changing gear just has a quiet pop and its away, other thing It keeps stalling which seems to be worse when cold, but if you let the revs go down it idles around 1200rpm .

when It went in for Iva it had to have the sensor in the exhaust moved to outside the car from no 1 primary to the 2/1 pipe, CC carried out the pre iva work and lengthened the lead that goes to it. Im now wondering if this would have anything to do with the poor running ? would it make any difference to the readings with different length wires or if the wires were switched around by accident when they were lengthened ? Car runs perfect when driven at full speed no issues just this popping and stalling when on the road at light throttle.

and If I cant get it running perfect Is there anywhere up in the North East area that remaps Emerald ecu ?

In the absence of better-informed folk so far, I feel I could mention a problem that inflicted my Dad's R300 and several others that I know of- the wires to the coils chafing on the panel which covers them. Perhaps whip the cover off and take a look?

Does sound like it could be the lambda sensor. It's normally only uses a low throttle setting (and not used at full throttle) so would would fit the bill. Length of wire shouldn't be an issue - more likely a break or bad connection. A diagnostic look at the at the ECU would be the way to go.

you took the engine in and out. the ecu settings won't have changed so a remap is pointless. as above - wiring fault and possibly throttle pot calibration required.

thanks for the replies, pretty sure the problem has occurred since the engine was removed so will investigate the wiring to the exhaust see if the wires are different colours and the correct way around.

Jeff mines the same with the stalling from cold from what I have been told it's regular.

However no problem popping on upshift but when coming of the throttle it can from the exhaust

cheers, I spoke to Emerald and they suggest it could be a problem with the throttle switch, they said it it fails the ecu doesnt know what position its in and cant compensate the map. need to sort a lap top and lead to see whats going on.
