Can anyone confirm the type of harnesses the factory use?

I've been offered a set of these at a good price, does anyone know if they're pretty much the same as factory supplied ones?

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/harnesses...

or are they more like these?

Thanks

Hi Craig, factory belts certainly used to be the race buckle type a few years back. Don't know if they have changed them in recent years. I have race buckle type and didnt have any probs with SVA.

I've just ordered my harnesses, they are Willans with the aircraft style buckle, but I'm not certain which exact model they are. Would be nice to know if you find out.

The first thing you need to ask yourself is do you plan on using your GTR strictly as a racer or if it'll see street use. That will determine the legality of the seat belt you plan to use. The examples you presented have two different release mechanisms...one legal for racing...the other legal for road use. I don't think the aircraft-style mechanism is road legal...but I may be wrong.

Well, the aircraft-style mechanism is NOT road legal here in Switzerland, even many do use it. That type of release mechanism will not pass the technical registration inspection.

The second type are road legal, they have the red button to release (for Joe publics ease of recognition) they will also have a BS mark or , numbers to: BS 3254: 1960 or BS3254:Part 1 1988.
FIA approved / marked belts are not strictly legal (unless they have the BS numbers as well) but few MOT bods read the actual requirements anyway.
As it stands harnesses which only show FIA approval are not eligible for the MOT test unless the vehicle presenter can prove (documented proof) that the standards marked on the harness meet or are equivalent to BS 3254: 1960 or BS3254:Part 1 1988. So generally aircraft type buckles are a no no.
