Ive just renewed with Flux and have several issues. I've emailed directly about them but also thought they're worth knowing about on here.

1. Agreed quote to renew on the phone and payment was taken for £331. Paperwork comes through, £371 written on it. Now, to be clear I was absolutely emphatic they give me the final price on the phone with anything that had to be added and only authorised £331 to be taken. Watch this space.

2. Exclusion to use E117. It appears the car will only be insured at my home address overnight if it is in my garage. This is at best impractical and was not explained during the conversation that lead to renewal. If this a genuine limitation, the policy is not fit for purpose in my case. There are several cars at my address, this one will not always be garaged overnight and at no point did i even imply it would.

3. E656, protection of no claims 4+ years. I have over fifteen years no claims and they are not referred to anywhere in the paperwork, this clause is the only thing i could find. Now, it may be that the clause itself is only appliccable for any policy that gets past four years ncb, but i've queried it anyway. Fortunately i have got pretty much every insurance certificate for the past fifteen years, somewhere!

Overall, i have to say i only agreed to renew with flux to save any hassle, they were still a tenner more than admiral which i waived to avoid exposure to any cockups. Pretty unimpressed so far and the new policy doesnt even start til the 27th. Strongly considering cancelling based on the reasons above.

I'll update with the reply from the company if anyone wants to hear it.

They've got it wrong with me too many times. I'd phone tomorrow and ask for written clarification and modify policy to suit at no extra cost , if not cancel...

Emailed them last night clearly detailing all issues. Ive also told them i expect a written reply in the first instance so i have proof.

Funny, they managed to get my card details right though.

Cancel it and go with Admiral.

No question.

Yu had problems with flux as well?

I'm trying to gauge their competence here before i cancel, so any experiences would help.

Due to naming and shaming rules we cannot post negative experiences. I'd also recommend looking elsewhere though.

Cool.

For the record, my original post is not naming and shaming (mods!) but merely outlining what has happened so far. If flux handle it with a positive outcome i will of course post that up.
