Story goes Me and my Dad took his 95' Izuz trooper for it's MOT.
the garage failed it for pretty much everything to do with the brakes.
When my dad went to pick the car up there was NO brakes, after snooping
around it looks like they've ragged the brake pipe off the calliper.
braking results in oil being spewed out and no braking what so ever!
When we inquired about this they said thats how We brought it to them.

Que 2nd garage:
Charged us £90 for the shortest run of brake pipe re fitting, and bodged at that.
they said they all needed changing and this would be around £400 +!

Que 3rd Garage:
Droped car off with parts that needed changing 3 weeks ago.
A week later we had a mechanic phone up and ask us what the parts in the car were for
and for some reason thought we wanted it to have it's MOT test before they were fitted.

A week went past with no contact, so I phoned the garage up to see what the score was.
the recepionist said they would get back to us tomorow.
We tried to phone them when they didn't, no answer.
we took a trip up the next day in my car the place was locked down,
A large HGV trailer parked infron of the entrance with the Propertiers logo on it.

The buisness next door was luckily enough to tell us they had closed
and they had a second unit in a slightly less local place.
after phoning there we got a very rude response from a mechanic.
who couldn't tell us where our car was.

after calling the property owners we managed to get in a week after.
Only to find the car in the same state except cover in mud!

At my Wits end with being messed about and ripped off.
worried even more so about the car being offroaded and damaged.

Can anyone recomend any good garages/mechanics in LS15 Leeds?

Can't help in Leeds but try The Good Garage Scheme

It was set up just for things such as this.

Not too far from you I've been using Metcalf Autos in Sherburn-in-Elmet for around 10 years. He used to have his own britcar race team plus prepared other race cars (e30 M3s) which is when I started using him.
Paul and his brother Richard are really nice guys, know their stuff and don't rip people off. I travel from Halifax for him to work on my M3 and wouldn't let anyone else touch it.
Give them a shout, tell them Chris Falk sent you (go on a Saturday they even buy the fish and chips)

Thank you for your reply, the garage you speak of wouldn't have a seperate garage based in Garforth would it?

No, only the single unit garage - it means you get personal service.

I asked the same question a couple of years back and Chris recommended Metcalf Autos to me, too..

I use them all the time now, wouldn't go anywhere else.

They spent ages sorting an abs issue on my OH's 206 and the bill was for little more than the actual parts needed. Great.

My Dad also uses Metcalf in Sherburn, and he gets in some right pickles so they must be good!

I've also used Toll bar garage in Garforth (just past Tescos) a fair bit over the years for MOT's on sheds etc - very fair, honest chaps, let you poke around etc. Even let me borrow the ramps a couple of times.
