Not me just a person who like's TVR and wedges in particular!

Ref it being a SE 390 or what, as we have already got a problem with a 350i its so easy to add things etc! There is also supposed to be fake SEAC's around! Plus the factory were not always completely strait with numbers etc, you can only have a educated guess! Untill you can really have a good look!
What makes you think it's a 390SE?
Andy
It's easy enough to 'de-seam' a fibreglass body so the apparently non-detachable sills may just have had the joints filled.
The full arch flares look to be well-executed in true 390SE style but again, nothing that can't be achieved with mat, resin and filler (or just filler if you're a bodyshop cowboy).
Bonnet and front airdam seem to be correct for a 390 although the bonnet could have had replica vents glassed-in (even genuine 390 bonnets have the outline of the modified mould visible). It does look to be missing the biggest clue though: the rear under-wing.
Simplest way to find out would be to ask the seller for the engine number (should be on the data plate as well as the engine): if it doesn't have an NCK number it's not a 390SE. But then he isn't claiming it to be a 390 so I'd be quite happy to view it as a dressed-up 350i: at least it's been done (apart from the sills which definitely aren't 390SE) in the proper 'style' for a Wedge and not with silly Lexus lights and BMW mirrors.
Dashboard could be an acquired taste but easy enough to return to standard with Hotty's veneers.

I disagree with that statement, not all genuine 390SE have NCK numbers, mine has a JE number and the "Andy Rouse" engines before it would have had something else.Russ

Well OK, let me rephrase that: if it has a 'standard' Rover series number (find them on Rimer Bros website) RATHER THAN an NCK, JE or other 'specialist' number, it's probably a cooking 3.5L (or later 3.9L RangeRover) off the line.Russ
The vast majority of 390SEs, I believe, DO have NCK numbers.
Hi Everyone,
Been a long time since I have posted on this forum I regularly used it many years ago but it appeared to go down. I did find it very helpful and also I believe I helped a few others. The car in question selling on ebay is mine. It really is a 350i. I replied via the ebay to a few folks who asked the question and here is the detail that I replied with; The previous owner added the 390/400 style add ons(rear boot top wing, front spoiler, arches and bonnet louvres when he had it resprayed in 1999. I think it was a nice job looks right for the wedge not unduly "modified" It has the standard 3.5 rover V8 (Vitesse spec 197bhp) unfortunately it doesn't have an Andy Rouse tuned 3.9 in it! The engine no. starts 37A014..that should tell you what you want to know.VIN starts SA9D..... The V5 indicates it as a TASMIN with 3498cc in the engine size believe they often registered it as a Tasmin even though TVR had dropped that name in favour of calling it just a 350i. The previous owner also used this forum and also was, like me, a TVR car club member his name is Tim Syddell. He had the mods done. The car is straight and genuine and has given me 6 years of pleasure thoguh due to a house move it has to go. I'm happy to answer any questions here or via the ebay ad. or via swann999@btinternet.com better still if you are in scotland near glasgow come and view the car. Cheers Nigel
