Is it my imagination, but Tuscan prices seem to be at their lowest for quite some time. Great news for buyers, but not so good for sellers.

I'm on my 3rd Tuscan now, and looking to move on, but the trade offers have dropped by 2k in the last 4 months which is the opposite to to the usual seasonal change considering we're moving into the summer.

Sign of the austere times, or something else at play this year? Anyone else noticed the same?

Real shame for me as I have a car I'm barely using (6 months old child is here now...) but it doesn't seem worth selling it if prices will bounce back next year.

Fair point, but this is usually the time of the year when sales pick up and values go up. Instead I see a lot of very reasonably priced cars in the classifieds.

Do you think it'll all change when the rain finally stops?

Been keeping a daily eye on them.

Seen their advertised price going up steadily the past year (though not selling for the increased prices garages were asking). At times when a Tuscan did come on sale for a reasonable price (e.g. Tusc 2 for 23k - RGC are trying to sell Tusc 1 for that price without a rebuild rofl)..you'd see it sold then up for sale a week later by a different garage for 25.5k.

Seemed to be they were trying to force a price increase by buying up the market - but not seen any sell for the prices they had artificially inflated them to. I guess now they've realised they can't have a car sitting in their lot for over a year and they are coming back to what they should have sold them for in the first place. 16k for a tusc 1 with rebuild. 24k for a tusc 2. Seems more realistic imo.

Hi
I have just bought a Mk2 Tuscan S, full convertible for 29k, 2006, 4800 miles on the clock (a few more now), I had been looking for over 9 months for a full convertible that was resonably priced. I had looked at a lot of full convertibles that the dealers would not even enter into negotiation with on the price most being in the 35k region. I think a lot of the garages are selling on a commission basis so they don't actually have to buy the car. I have been watching the prices on PH and there are a lot of cars there that have been listed for over 9 months.
We have a recession on and people are not prepared to pay what they consider top money. The guy I bought mine from was realistic on the price and wanted to sell it. Thanks to the TVR car club and the add I put in the Mag under wanted the car never even entered the dealer chain.

That's a good price but I paid £24k in 2009 for my full convertible.
Not complaining you understand smile
Back then I thought mine was about £8k under priced.
Best TVR I've owned and the best car I've owned. It's still worth way more than I paid for it.
I write of a 2000 Mk1 in 2009 and got more from the insurance than I had paid for it back in 2006.
My review of the year 2000 models is that they have gone up in price by £2k since 2009.
What other car gives you such security on your investment and is soooo useable.
Oh yes, another TVR, say a Sagaris.
Please let's keep this to ourselves.

A mk2 Tuscan S must be undervalued versus a Sagaris normally by £15K! this can't be right as they werent much different. T350, Tamora, Griffith have all seem to have gone up recently particularly Griffs. The Cerbera doesnt seem to have gone up and its such a fantastic model

Well there's still a few places doing their best to prop up the prices:

That's quite eye opening. Although there are about 20 cars which have sold out of the 46 (granted this would reduce the other models down as well)

Not sure why it matters how many are for sale? How many Tamora's and Sagarii (-?) are there in existence?

I am amazed at price of dealer ones even if they do come with a warrenty. Also people paying 8,9,10 k for a damaged car to fix!

Pricing a TVR is always difficult and I suppose it just goes down to how much the person wants the car and how much they think it is worth.

My Tuscan is for sale!

Walford, any idea on resale for an LS car? Not sure how much the conversion costs but must be pricey?

Completely agree. I don't think it's bad, just not as striking or clear as the mk1. The "mk3" wavy dash on the other hand is the best of all IMO.

No idea, have not seen a LSx "T" car sold,
.

Most of the dealers say my car is worth less than a stock Tuscan

even with rebuilt chassis, LSx (crower forged internals and MoTec) new tremec 6 speed box, new clutch, Nitrons, 330 bell and rotors, complete polly bushings, and all of the small parts, handbrake cable, brake pipes hoses, radiator, alternator, starter,

so at least 20k in parts and 400 hours labour

no doubt it will end up on Ebay when i get board with it, then your question will be answered
