New mx5 sport problems
Discussion
I purchased a 02 mx5 sport around 3 weeks ago from a small dealership, on Friday I had a few problems starting the car, it turned out that the immobiliser light wasn't coming on. After about 20 minutes and numerous tries it finally came on and i was able to start it. The problem seemed to go away over the weekend but this morning it did it again but after taking the key out and putting back in I was able to start it at the second attempt.
I've read a few horror stories about this problem and most of them the outcome is to replace the whole ECU and immobiliser.
My question is, do I take it back to the dealer now and say there is a problem, an intermittent one that probably won't appear when at the dealers, or leave it to see if it continues to occur?
