So, after having recently bought a nice (to me car).
I'd like to look after it as best as i can.
Which products would you recommend?
Halfrauds seem to have a 3for2 on at the moment so could be a good time to grab a deal?
I've in the past just whatever the old man has had in the garage.
Currently i'm looking for:
Alloy wheel cleaner, Leather Care, Back to Black for the outer trims etc.
Resin Polish, Shampoo & some micro-fibre cloths.
Cloth's etc you can get cheap enough anywhere, but if i say bought AutoGlym for all the above, are their products good?
There is a budget of around £40 & i can get all the above in using he Halfrauds offer at the moment..

I've tried Autoglym, and a few others, but Meguires is the brand I keep going back to. It's the easiest to use and get good results with IMO.

I use a microfibre mit, cloths for drying, Autoglym shampoo/conditioner finished with Meguiars quick wax & this gives consistently good results.
Within your budget, too.

What do you use for polishing? A mit or cloth?

Well the exact process takes me around 45 minutes to 1 hour from start to finish & gives me the best bang for my buck.

-Rinse the car
-Wash with Autoglym shampoo/conditioner using microfibre wash mit & the 2 bucket method. I used to use Meguiars lambswool but the fall to bits very easily.
-Rinse with water.
-Dry with a microfibre towel.
-Use a microfibre cloth to apply meguiars quick wax

By the way, for external trim I found Forever Black to be very good, so long as you apply with a brush & not the foam applicator provided.

I took advantage of the Halford bogof last month

Not bad for an old bus!!
AG shampoo, super resin polish then ultra deep shine and finished off with extra gloss protection

OP - Just so you know, there is a full-on detailing forum on PH where you will get lots of hints and tips!

I would probably add that for scratches, I have found Meguires ScratchX to be far better and less agressive than T-Cut. Had some great results with ScratchX.

I have quite a lot of Autoglym stuff, good balance of value and quality.

If you want real OCD (and to lose an afternoon browsing the studio forum) then go to detailingworld.co.uk

As a basic for looking after your car I would recommend :

- 2 bucket washing method
- Lambswool mitt
- AG Bodywork Shampoo & Conditioner
- Microfibre towels for drying
- Microfibre cloths for polishing / cleaning
- A wheel brush
- Asda matt interior trim cleaner (cant remember the brand, but you buy it in Asda, black trigger bottle)
- AG Super Resin polish
- AG Fastglass
- AG Deep Gloss protection or Turtlewax Fast Wax
- Demon shine for topups
