It's a car produced by Claremont Corvette (and their boss Tom Falconer) containing a Jaguar V12.

Why anyone would want to do that, I just don't know...

Our man Tom found that fitting these engines to Vettes caused serious overheating problems, and so did very few of them. Bad idea anyway, IMHO...

A Jag in a Vette? Former boss had a V12 Etype with a Vette rear axle . . . That was bad enough.

Skip this . . . Thanx for the info.

What is the point???

Surely to the 375hp 5.7L V8 would have been more potent than the V12 they put in??

Hmmmm... the other way round (a nice XJS with an LT5) would be alright, I suppose...

Was quite a while ago, mind - even though I do agree that IMHO, it was a pointless exercise...

whats the point of that. By the time you got the LT5 installed, the Jag would have rusted into dust anyway

Jag-lovers better not click here . . .

What a load of rubbish you guys are talking, I thought you were Corvette enthusiasts? Jag V12 - ha ha!

The V12 is made by Ryan Falconer Racing engines:

www.falconerengines.com/prod04.htm

It is basically a custom 12 cylinder version of the Chevy small block V8.

I have spoken to them in the past and the engines are amazing, but also very expensive (over $100,000 each from memory).

I'm not trying to be rude or insulting to anyone, but this thread is a classic example of 'internet facts' being delivered by some mis-informed people.........

I have an old magazine with an article about that corvette, they called it the ZR12 (for obvious reasons), they had to make a longer chassis and hood, and longer side fenders (look at the picture), they say the performance was atonishing and the car drove pretty well (not more understeering as with the LT5 engine), they did it as a test but never thought about putting it in production, 1. for the cost, and 2. they thought there is no market in the US for an american made V12 sports car, they are biased towards V8=performance and V12=refinement.

A shame . . . 700 bhp (for starters so I read. Turboed any Lingenfelter will seriously bow) in a C5 is monstrous. Will Kill Bill any Rari on its way. Untill the twisties doom ahead . . . Stig!!!

Maybe with an more exclusive packaging it will interest supercar buyers.

Funny where a thread takes you to. I found an akward piccie with Google, posted a Q, and here we are now. You're worth more than an encyclopedia . . .
