Does anyone know what type of oil I should put in a 1000kg Ratcliffe tail lift? Is it a special type or will any old hydraulic oil do the job? Thanks..

I bunged normal hydraulic oil in ours and it was ok. Slow in the winter still fast on hot days.

We have always used vg22 and a quick google seems to suggest that 'The majority of tail lift manufacturers recommend using VG22 grade oil on the tail'

However if youre filling it up because it pisses it everywhere I would just go for 'cheap' smile
