Hi can any body help me find the site with the remote boot release ? And is it easy enough to do myself ? And cost would be good . Some one who has fitted one would be nice.

are you handy with electronics?
easy to do a neat one quite cheaply.
reed switch and relay from maplins wired to the original solenoid. The reed switch fitted into the rear light and you can put a magnet on your keyring to activate the reed switch

Would that only work if the key was in the ignition, or with the car unlocked?

I have no idea who did it, or how, but my car has a neat little mod:

Press and hold the drivers door under mirror button for 2 secs and it pops the boot.

The kit fitted to the Chimaera I had (probably supplied by Carl Baker) got its "live" through a micro switch which was operated by the passenger side door lock mechanism, so yes, only worked when car unlocked.

But if know one knows you have one (or exactly where the reed switch is)I reckon there's a pretty slim chance of anyone breaking in ?

Ask his mum Ma Baker - I think someone wrote a song about her once!

Nah - she brought up her sons to handle their guns ... not fit boot releases.

But maybe he's the son of Master Baker ...

Nobody mentioned this modwise kit. Can't speak for if it's any good but from what i've read the general consensus seems to be pretty good on modwise stuff ...
