Evening all.
For years I have wanted to be a part of this section of PistonHeads and now it looks like I'll have to stop lurking and start contributing.
I have put a deposit down on an AMV8 and am waiting for the car to be prepped and become mine.

If anyone here knows the car then I'd appreciate some pointers, online or off.
Seems to have a good spec and fairly low mileage for the price, so I'm quite happy with the deal.

That's a cracking car that is...... I thrashed the nuts off it for a day around Donninton..... It was going really well until I rolled it into the gravell trap..... Damage wasn't to bad though.... Looks like they straightened it out ok

Soon to be former BMW owner.To be completely honest, my one concern with the new car is, after having a Z3M Coupe and a Z4M Coupe, will an AMV8 feel fast enough? These two cars have been ridiculously good fun to drive.

Probably not..... But it's far more special..... Without wishing to rain on your parade (although it's the weather for it...) I hope you didn't buy it based on it being a 420bhp 4.7 model, as stated in the ad.
It certainly looks like a 2006 model (also stated in the ad) which, if this is the case (and unless it's had the BR 4.7 conversion), means it's a 4.3 380bhp model.
Easiest way to tell is to look under the bonnet - it'll become clear very quickly!
Like I say, honestly not wanting to dampen your spirits, but just to make sure you get what you think you're getting.
Either way, it's a fantastic car and easily fast enough. And the 4.3 V8 has the best sound

Besides a "fuse 22 button", I would also go for the factory power upgrade: it then will have 400+ BHP, but more important, is much more smooth on the gas and runs much smoother at/to higher speeds!
You can see if the car maybe already has it, when it has a black (instead of silver) engine cover.
