Hi all. Now your all probably gonna flame me for saying this and tell me to man up, but recently I've gone to a few karting races just for a bit of fun, I'm usually more of a time trial/climb/historic circuit racing man (I have a 1965 Ashley Sprite Replica) and I was pretty annoyed at the awful driving manners of fellow racers, even in the internationals.

Now I'm no stranger to punting and being punted, but I was constantly being punted around by people who weren't even faster than me! In fact I was setting consistently faster lap times than almost everyone else, but they just seemed to want to cause trouble, flicking me out in corners, punting in the back, blocking on straights. Just generally bloody lairy mad

I'm told by a friend that used to race in a caterham series that the same thing happens there as karters move onto cars, retaining their awful racing manners.

Has anyone else experienced this or am I alone?

Ha, I've found this too.

I'm normally quite aggressive when racing, but completely abide by accepted racing 'laws'. If you're beaten you're beaten, be faster next time.

But then you get kids with an ounce of natural ability but no knowledge of racing etiquette. These are the dicks on the track, I find. They'll barge by, block and generally play dirty.

It's the same when racing online.

But it's a genuine joy to find a group of racers who know the 'rules'. Ive never found so much respect in a competitive sport than between a group of genuine racers karting together. Makes the stty races you endure worthwhile.

Actually, I might have underestimated the level you were competing at here... I was thinking of arrive and drive sessions!

Well to be honest, I've done a few arrive and drives as well and in some cases, the drivers where better and more considerate than the proper racers! confused
