i have to choose btwn two cars on same price, both s2 111s. Either an 18k mile cobalt with a/c and hard top, or 6k mile silver without, but with a janspeed exhaust. All other details the same, incl flsh. Car will be parked on the street in london.

What would you pick? I know some dont like the idea of a/c but it is useful in the summer in humid london... Do i run the risk of getting slashed roof if i dont have a hard top?

The choice will be made tonight!

Hardtop is pretty useless imho. Aircon you will be grateful for on a wet hot day stuck in traffic in London. I managed to boil myself a couple of times in that weather.

Cars are worth about the same,

BUT how many miles are you planning on doing a year?

If your planning on doing over 10,000miles a year I'd go with the lower mileage car, otherwise in 2yrs time you'd be looking at selling on

a. car done around 38,000

b. car done around 26,000

Much more saleable!

PS how about an 03/03 With Air con in Quartz Silver done 5,500?

Agreed with DanH - if I was to get a new Elise it would have the air-con box ticked. I found the standard heater as useful as a cold water bottle on a long winter's motorway trip.
