Headlights

Thanks to those nice people at bamford rose I've just changed my db9 rear lights to the clear ones. Wasn't sure at first but now I love them.

As predictable as night follows day I guess, I'm now wondering if it's possible to swap the front headlights for the led ones that Aston put in the new virage.

Does anybody know if it's possible without selling a kidney?! I cant see if the bodywork on the wings is different, for example; the rears needed a simple config file re the electrics, and the new clear rear lights weren't soo expensive when the 20% price reduction kicked in..

I shall put my head on the block Norgrom and say No !!

Every panel on the Virage - aside from the roof - is different to the DB9. Incorporating the superior (IMHO) Vantage LEDs into the Virage was a good move by AM but I remain dubious as to whether or not these can be fitted onto a DB9.

More than happy to be corrected. Otherwise I shall be doing the same myself

Cheers jockman.. Tho it's disappointing news. Why change all the panels by a bit when the end result is no change lol. It will have saved me a kidney I suppose!

To stop us upgrading existing cars and give us just one more reason to replace our current one

Just a minute, lots of us came from TVRs where people would put different lights into the GRP wings. AMs have GRP wings, so it has to be possible to recraft the wing to accommodate the Virage lights.

If you wanted to go ahead with this idea, Surface Design in the old TVR factory here in Blackpool would be a good place to ask.

Are the headlights on the Rapide the same shape as the Virage's? If not, maybe they might fit.

Sure it can be done. No doubt somebody will do it to a front end damaged Db9 one day but it’s a bit pointless, and a lot of expense, for the sake of different headlights with leds

Just buy a Virage next time… keep it simple.

Don't get me wrong here guys, I come from the school of thought which says anything can be done - even if it involves a sledgehammer and a hacksaw.

My interpretation of Norgrom's posting was about the components being interchangeable.

Here’s a better way to fit leds to the front of a DB9, On mcm66’s car.

I think they look rather good, no major modifications and without spoiling the face of a DB9.

Like jockman said, I was exploring interchangeability... Just like swapping the rears..
