Head Skimming in Stoke On Trent

Can anyone recommend a garage/machine shop in Stoke on Trent that can skim and clean cylinder heads?

Headgasket has gone on my car and I want to do the job properly but know of nowhere locally (I live in Cheadle) although know there will be an abundance in Stoke On Trent itself.

How much should I be looking at? Don't want to get ripped off but want a good job.

An engineering firm will be able to skim or mill it. It'll cost between £40 and £60 at a guess. If it's iron they'll be able to grind it. Have you tried Google? You may be able to make a few phone calls if anybody looks promising.

GMH autos in Cheadle might be able to help, or point you in the right direction.

There used to be a place in a back street near Longton years ago (mid 90's) but I've no idea if they're still there.

There's also a chap opposite my office who builds engines, I can ask him who he uses for skimming if you want (we're up in Chesterton).

allards off lichfierld street will do it for you, they do flywheel skimming and all sorts
