Toying with the idea of getting a sports back box on the Tamora, and have had a quick look online and can see that they are around £400-£500 ... I think that might be a bit steep in my opinion. There is a local garage that specialises in stainless steel exhausts, and I have had a box build from him before, so might give him a try as well.

can anyone suggest anything / anywhere else I can look? just looking for a bit more noise

thanks

Generally for more noise it's RG/Power/JP, but i'm sure they can be copied by other companies, i think mine is a copy of the Power back box and it sounds the same.

Ta, when i had the Cerb i got a quote from Exhausts UK for a new system, deinitely cheaper than going the TVR indie route, i couldn't say whether the grade of steal was the same though

Sounds like a bargain!

If you go down the route of getting one made, these guys - http://www.aas-exhausts.co.uk/ - made one up for me using the original back box as a template for £200 to give you an idea of the cost.

Go the full monte and take the cats out too. Mine was anti-social with just a set of RG super sport cans. Without the cats it now spits flames!.

Problem with getting a custom build is it might end up sounding rubbish and/or sending you deaf! They all sound different so it depends what you are looking for.

Had a Blue Flame on mine, sounded great, not too loud. Previous owner had the tvr power exhaust. Sounded like Krakatoa erupting on startup His neighbours had a street party when he sold it to me! .

Excellent!! Cats look like a nightmare to get off though-definitely not a 5 min job!

While on the topic of Tamora back boxes, what are the options for a quieter system that is more likely to meet trackday noise limits?

The car currently has the ACT exhaust (and cats). I like some elements of it, and the popping / banging on the overrun is good, but would prefer it a few dB quieter.

I understand that trackday silencers are not available as an easy to fit option to this exhaust.

Cost about £50. Need a ramp to get under the car and take the engineer under tray off.
