Sat nav DVD update (2006 car)

Sorry for all the questions on my new purchase - the sodding pistonheads search function seems to be continually broken - very annoying!

Anyway, what's the cheapest way to update my sat nav disc on a 2006 Vantage? Will any eBay Volvo navigation DVD work ok?

You can go for eBay but sometimes you end up getting only one disc, which is OK if you will only drive in those counties covered by that disc. The complete 2012 three disc set can be bought at any Volvo dealer for around £160.

The above link will take you to http://www.satnav-updates.com/ from whome I bought separate disks for a 2007 4.3 Vantage and a 2012 V12 Vantage and 2006 RR and all worked perfect. However they are only selling 2011 versions and I am not sure 2012 is available anywhere yet.

One thing worth pointing out is its illegal to have any form of speed camara alert system in your car in France and the 2011 disc still shows them as I found out recently on a blast to Paris. I am hoping the 2012 discs when available will have these removed. Even if you do not have sat nav on, my understanding is the French Rozzers can still take you to task for simply having a piece of kit in the car that can detect them.

I was told that the 2012 discs were released in May but I cannot verify that.

There are reports on the Volvo owners forum of them receiving 2012 update disks for the HDD system around May time (p/n 31358423) but no indications of non-HDD system updates as yet.
