The future of Virage

With what looks to be such a short production life (I understand the line has already been quietly dropped), whats peoples thoughts on the future of the Virage?

Will it be a future classic - so few about so carries a rarity premium, or ill-thought of love child of the DB9/DBS?

The one that came to Brooklands was jaw-dropping I thought!Not quite the 'bodykit' look of the DBS or the elegance of the DB9, a very, very good compromise on just about everything - execpt manual

If they are no longer being built... Well, nothing surprises me with the Aston factory any more

I guess that means 310 will be the basis for the next V12 2+2 product line, from base V12 GT to Vanquish?

I think so, and have done for a while. That Appletree green one at JCT would be perfect for me

If true, is very sad. Saw the Virage as the DB9 Mark II. Unfortuently it was part of AM's bizzare marketing / product lineup. Should have dropped the DB9 and marketed the Virage as the facelift model to the DB9. There was never a need for a model between the DB9 and the DBS.

The one at Brooklands in January was stunning indeed - I can see these being a great buy in the future. Not sure about "classic" status, as surely this will be the role of the Manual DBS for the current DB9 variants?

I really like it but I like the "heritage" look of these greens

Also Buckinghamshire green is lovely

Personally I;d wait until they do the revised version with the extra litre and cracking bodykit, or even the much improved version with twin superchargers and fancy new rear lights

I presume the Apple tree green car was the one doing the launch rounds?,very nice it was too.

The green looked great in the sun light almost classical with the heritage twist.

Was it ever going to work I don't no,was a half way house really needed at the time I doubt but if indeed it
has faded away I'm sure the iconic name will come out to play again in a future incarnation.

So do we think theres a shed load of unsold models out there awaiting an unsuspecting punter with a big
discount sale tag attached?.

+1 it would have made a nice DB9 facelift

Completely agree with this. To me it just looked like a facelifted/updated DB9 and didn't fit in within the range

Agree. It was a facelifted db9 but Aston thought they would get more money by pretending it was a new model. People who can afford to buy Astons aren't stupid though!

I hope you're right Kris. I really must start to look after mine a bit better. A thorough wash would be a start as George will confirm after seeing it yesterday

It was surprisingly dirty close up! Storm black does a good job of hiding the dirt at a distance though
