Four Owner V12V

I'm looking at this car, does anyone now it?

Its has four owners making me the fifth which is putting me off. It must be an ex AML car with a KX09 registration and its number 23. The tyres show clear signs of track use but its just been serviced, MoT'd and comes with two years extended AML Warranty

Would I be better off with one of the the nearly new 2011 cars that AML dealers have at around £95K or take a risk on this one at under £80K?

Have a look on https://used.astonmartin.com/. There is a lightning silver main dealer car on there at £91,995 which is a 2009 with only 4700 miles, and I suspect a normal history - its also got the lightweight seats as has the car you are looking at. Haggle hard and I reckon that would be a much better buy!

Press cars have been hammered ......high risk in the long run.......pay a bit more for a car with a better history

Might not have been a press car, could have been a car for a motorshow like mine, and that's a KX59 plate

I avoided a used V12V I went see for similar reasons. Ragged tyres, stone chips, rear light trim hanging off. The dealer promised all would be put right, but it just didn't sit well.

A few days later I was offered a brand new showroom car for not much more. Higher spec and in one of my preferred colours.

It pays to shop around and get your name down across the dealer network. My perfect car turned out to be from Stratstone Wilmslow, some 200 odd miles from me but definitely worth the journey.

Yes they are but press cars are hammered without respect.....eg the balls rev off them from cold.......there is a difference

Why on earth do they do that? Present a car that looks taty and s**t and then say it will all be fixed for you. Seems a crazy sales ploy to me as it just shows the potential buyer how uncared for the car was!

That's so not true. Georges DB9 is being employed as a water harvesting device.

I was told the DP had literally taken the car from the transporter the day it arrived and had been driving it ever since. Thus they had offered it prior to prepping when I guess the mileage for selling it had been reached.

Very pleased as it turned out as at least I got to see its genuine condition before makeover.

How much haggling is realistically possible? I tried a few dealers and they seem to regurgitate some spiel about it being priced at current market value and they cannot reduce it.

I would normally say avoid press cars too - but I ended up buying one a few months ago....also a KX09 plate V12V. If you're aware of the cars history, and go in with your eyes open (make sure the disks have been weighed recently and ask for the results), there's no reason to avoid these cars. Knowing that the car has had a harder than average life is a good means of bargaining with the dealer; I could point to AutoExpress driving my car round Anglesey circuit on a YouTube video and used this to my advantage (the dealer wasn't aware of this). Saying that, one of the main reasons I chose my car is that it was in a rare colour (Magma Red) so knew if I didn't go for it I could be waiting a long time for another to surface - there's far more Quantum cars about.

I also paid a fair bit less than £85k - had 12k on the clock. If you like this one, then bargain hard.
