How can you tell if your 4.0 litre Chim is HC?

Yep yes lopey idle if its still on the 500 cam scratchchin without removing the valve covers to expose the double valve springs externally hard to tell, its only a badge and can easily be changed but does it say HC on the plenum?
That's my old one.

Yes because there they did a low and high comp engine ,the low comp were used in Viva vans ,they were slower and could not be thrashed .

According to the many ads for 'HC' 400s there appear to have been more manufactured than 'standard' ones. rolleyes

If this helps, mine isn't an HC and doesn't have HC written anywhere except in the "Chimaera" badge. And then not in the right order.

Best thing to do is get in on a rolling road. I once owned M105 NP? which was a HC, but the timing marks were in the wrong place. The rolling road managed to get the car setup right and running the full 275Bhp.....

The best well to tell.
