Quickie. Hire car - Seat Leon vs Merc B-class

Hi, as per the title, which would you have for a week? Don't know which engine - I suspect basic and will have me, the mrs and our 5 month old with gear. Needs to be booked by Fri (15th June). Cheers.

B Class by a mile - especially with a 5 year old.

I like Leon's too but with a family it has to be a B Class - The driving position is good too. This all assumes that you not looking at hoonage criteria.

I've never driven, nor have much opinion or knowledge of either! The Seat is £30 less, has 3 doors, but looks a bit sportier. The b-class has 4 doors and is a bit more people carrier looking. BTW - we will be in Germany, so would we be likely to get a better spec Merc than Seat?

If you aren't judging it for hoonage then what are you judging it by?

It's a hire car, even 5 year olds like to see a car get thrashed. You're never too young to learn about clutchless gearchanges.

The Leon is a 5 door like the B Class. Rear handles are hidden to fool passengers.

I think a couple of you have got confused with the OP's post.

A '5 month old' isn't a '5 year old'. So I think space is important OP.

I'd say the B-Class for the extra space but have no personal experience

As far as I'm aware, there is no 3-door Leon of the current generation? Unless it just wasn't available in the UK.

Oh. I quoted the chap who got it wrong, then assumed he was right.

5 month old children have less inertia than 5 year old children, and also can't talk, so are even better for hoonage.

I stand corrected. Pics in google appeared to show a 3 door but on closer inspection can see it's 5. Is the Leon more hoonable and any less practical?

The boy is 5 months, not 5 years BTW

I was hoping to share the blame with forum software that doesn't let you read the thread while composing a reply. And also with the guy who was wrong first.
