Anyone done a Land Rover 'off road experience day'?
Discussion
I will be in the UK for a bit in the summer and quite fancy doing one of these organised by LR dealership. I just bought a Defender and it would be good to get some tips on what it can do. Anyone done one?
My concern it that it might be a bit tame, please tell me its more than just a few muddy puddles..?

You'd be right to be disappointed if it was!
I've done the LR thing at Silverstone and the real kick comes from climbing/descending some very steep hills and exploring the extraordinary axle articulation. The vehicle's extreme angles of approach/departure can be something of an eye-opener too.

I've done the Rockingham one, about 2 months back. We did disco4, and it was great. I'm an experienced off roader and regularly do pay n play in my 90. The LR experience is not extreme, no brown trouser moments, BUT, they do show you the limits of the car and they also teach you about gear selection, hills and other in car aids.
Look on eBay, vouchers can be had for 50 quid, well worth that in my opinion

I did the Rockingam one for free a few years back..some kind of promotion. At the time the dealers could send people along to entice them to buy cars, i think i just won mine somehow. Good fun and definitely left me looking at the defender thinking "how is that possible". Also learnt a bit about car control!
