I knew I had a melted Poly bush and a leaky shock, but really wanted to make it to the growl. Car felt twitchy and unsettled in the twisties, so just backed off in the corners.
So this week I set about replacing the melted poly bushes and discovered that it is possibly the worst job to do (always left it to the mechanic in the past..I get thru at least two a season) so never done it myself before. Took meover 3 hrs to get the friggin thing back in.
Whilst doing the bushes I noticed the hub clonk onto the lower wishbone whilst I was fighting to get the top wishbone back in...well actually I was knocking the crap out of it with a BIG technical adjuster at the time! So today I went to replace the bottom ball joint. When I released the arb bolt, the bottom wishbone dropped over half an inch!...I was so lucky it didn't fail completely when chasing after 7tvr and end in a horrific crash.
So if u hear a clatter when u hit the bumps, don't assume its yet another failed poly bush!
