3.2 1987 ... New exhaust Fab Speed / Dansk or Hayward Scott

Anyone got any opions on the following looking for a cat bypass and muffler one in one out for a 3.2 1987 911.

Im swaying to Hayward but cant find any you tube vids or recomendations on them for the older models.
I like a nice loud rumble thats manageable for my Girl friend on long journeys ! :-)

Many years ago when I had a 3.2 Carrera I took off the pre silencer and replaced with a straight pipe and a Stainless Dansk back box sounded just right not too loud but a nice burble and rumble.
But there are more options around now days all depends on the sound you want.
Also removing the pre silencer reduces weight over the back.

You have not got a cat but you do have a pre silencer. I run SSI's on my 3.2 with a stainless steel Dansk two in and one out and it is very quite. I have no idea why as it should not be.

Im unsure about the SSI's to be honest was looking at sub £1000.
I want an agressive sound but without a headache on a long trip. Its going onto a Cabriolet as well :-)
No one has anything to say on the Haywards ??

"I don't have a solution, but as you have brought the subject up I would like to comment that I have yet to hear an after-market 3.2 silencer that I would consider satisfactory in terms of noise and resonance for normal use and cruising. Sure they are fine for blasting and trackdays, but that is such a small percentage of time for most of us. I always recommend sticking with the stock system or fit a Dansk. It's odd that the early 911s and even 964s and 993s seems to be OK with aftermarket systems, but (to me at least, and it seems, all my customers) the 3.2 is not".

A friend of mine had a Hayward and Scott , sounded more v8 than flat 6 , plus you had to take the exhaust off to do the valve adjustment ..pita , turbo Thomas will make you whatever you want .. http://www.turbothomas.com/?

There is a you tube clip run a search, for it of 87 911 running a Haywood and Scott system. I am thinking about one with exchangers to fit on mine looking at £2700 with fitting. I know not cheap, however all in S/S so should last a lifetime.

Each to there own, Hayward&Scott are not the cheapest by far. Hence most people go for a cheaper choice.
They have a good rep for there systems.
Its like a Porsche, there is one for everybody's pocket and taste.
Not everybody likes my 911 who cares my money my choice.
Picture below of my new system, I went for the stock look they do others.
It looks like around 15 per cent on performance.
