Being a high-winged a/c, coupled with its size, means that Albert has a relatively high level of 'Roll Inertia' (despite what can only be described as an amazing Roll Rate for a large a/c). The upshot is that if you want to get Albert rolling fast (or indeed stop him rolling fast) you use what would (on other a/c) be perceived to be large control inputs.Max_Torque said:

The C130K with its Allison T56 turboprops (same as C130H) produced 19,600 in.lbs of torque per engine in the T/O configuration (which equivalates to 4590 shaft horsepower).C130J with its RR AE2100 turboprops produces 4637 shp.
The operating weights have not changed between the two types.
The major difference between them is that the J is more efficient WRT fuel burn, has a higher cruise, and can climb faster than the K. Primarily this is due to the better Dowty props fitted to the J compared to the Hamilton-Standards fitted to the K.

It was less than 20 years, but I get your point.when I was doing some work at Dowty Props a few years back I was told the story of the US Colonel (or similar high rank) who insisted on standing up betwene the pilots on a K for a take off roll. The pilots asked him to sit down/buckle up... he replied 'i've been flying on c-130 for 20+ years I'll be fine'.
so the pilots did what pilots do and showed off the improved take-off/climb of the K resulting in the Colonel sitting on his ar8e against the cockpit door!
