Morning,

I want to make a modification to the exhaust on my M3 that requires a bit of cutting and welding which I don't have the tools (or skills!) to do. The mod is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sUx_j56_AM

Do you know anyone round these parts (Derby) who could do this for me?

Thanks,

Ross.

I just skimmed through the video. I'm not sure if Milltek do this kind of thing but they have a place on Pride Park might be worth a phone call?

Thanks Jim. I think Milltek would happily sell me a new exhaust for circa £1k but I am just looking at modifying the one I have for less £££££ !

Basically the mod is removing the back box and cutting some access panels in it. Then removing the wadding, replacing the perforated pipes with solid ones (welded). Finally restuff the wadding and weld the access panels back.

Gives it a bit more va-va-voom in the noise department.

In that case either an independent garage or friend of a friend will probably be best then. I would recommend Stores Road garage. They are just across the road from where I work I can pop in and ask if they can do it if you want?

Just been and asked and they said they could do it but you would probably be better with somewhere that specialises in exhausts like Britannia Tyres or ETS. Is the car out of warranty now?

Have you tried Mij performance(Exhaust specialist) in Walsall, not too far from Derby, saw quite a few cars in there yesterday including an E60 M5, Lamborgini Merci.

Funnily enough I actually contacted Britannia and ETS yesterday from their websites about this. Neither has got back to me. Will have to resort to the traditional method of droppping in...

Contact John at Nouvalari Engineering - He is just off JCT 26 of the M1. He will make whatever you want. His exhausts are very good quality. He made the system for my Ferrari 348 and that sounded awesome !
