Hi, Im looking to become a member of the TVR family very soon...... Have been trawling this forum for months without registering (bad I know)and its such a wealth of knowledge.

Now im in a position to buy, im looking for the right T350. Just wondered if anyone knew the previous owner of this vehicle? FJ53 HCN?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3945881.htm

Is there anything specific on an 03 engine I should be aware of compared to the later engines? There seems to be a lot of discussion around early and late engines?

thanks

Did you ever go to see the car or find out more about it? Potentially thinking about getting one, although not sure yet as it would be in the UK most of the time since it would be over £100 000 to import here!

Hi, I went to go and see this car during my hunt for a T350C in June before the seller had it buffed up as the paintwork was looking misty due to a cover being on it for long periods of time. I also had a good look underneath the chassis and it's been completely sealed and looks mint. The interior was OK, the carpets were a little faded but that's to be expected on an 03 car. The seller started it from cold and it sounded good.

Go and see it now because he'll have had it prepared properly.

I also viewed (and drove) it in June. Lovely car, well prepped. The interior wasn't quite as good as I'd have liked but wasn't by any means bad, good colour scheme which complemented the car. But the deal wasn't right for me so I walked away.

I looked at putting my car on to Norwegian number plates and the cost would be around 440,000 NOK! still not cheap but can be done for around £65K all in.

Where did you get the CO2 emissions? I guessed at 300 as there is no published data. Maybe had guessed higher when I checked earlier. This is for a January 2004 car at £23 000.

Value added taxes: 54 452,50
The motor vehicle tax for this vehicle will be as follows:
Tax on unladen weight: 45 398,67
Tax on engine rating: 334 495,00
Tax on CO2: 338 390,00
Tax on NOx: 3 300,00
Motor vehicle tax for a corresponding new vehicle: 721 583,67
Second-hand vehicle deduction (59%): -425 734,37
Total: 295 849,00
Vehicle scrap deposit: 1 700,00
Totalt taxes: 352 001,50
Total for this vehicle including taxes: 569 811,50

It's crazy! I have been trying to find a way to sneak it in, but it doesn't look like there is one.

If you live and work in Norway full time then you're basically stuffed it seems. How did you get the CO2 values for the calculation? The 300 was a complete guess from me.

ETA: They also include the purchase price of the car in the total now, which I don't think they used to. Not sure if that's the difference (although 100 000 would be a cheap car!)
