Hi everyone, been a long time lurker but now decided to jump in. Been reading several 'what car' threads and it's got me thinking. I'm looking for a bit more performance (Currently have 2.0 Accord Type S) but refuse to have it at any cost (mainly insurance/tax). So, criteria is as follows.....

£6k budget
4/5 doors (kids)
Good performance (sub 8 secs)
Cheap tax - what age should I be looking, is it pre 2001 before the VED bands came in?
Reasonable insurance (£500 max). Full NCD, no points, 20 years driving. At what point is it possible to get a 'classic car' policy?
Economy musn't be stupidly low
