Steering wheel ribbon cable

Hello,

My Steering cable has failed and needs replacing.

I have seen one on racetech but it's almost £70. Does anyone know where I can get one that isn't such an eye watering price?

Has the cable gone or has it come apart. Having mine done in July along with the 12k service as I'm not into fighting spaghetti.

Seconding the cry for help. I need one too, presumably its an easy and non standard (as in non TVR) part to get hold of?
Some electrically savvy bod must have something somewhere hmm?

Hello,

I think you're looking for FFC cables, a.k.a flexible film cables or flexible flat cables. These are readily available for suppliers like RS components. I'll take a look at the FCC cables on my Cerbera and confirm the number of conductors and the pitch required. The FFC cables are terminated for insertion into LIF or ZIF sockets, so there ready to go.

An example can be found here...

I'll post again when I'm confident that I have located a direct replacement I.e the same length, number of conductors and pitch.

These cables are usually price at about £1 upwards.... depending on length etc.

I called Bespoke and they have no cables and mentioned that only Racetech have them @70 pounds :-(

Tbh I'm not keen on a 2nd hand cable so the garage are going to repair the original.
