A bit of background, for the past few years I've been in Close protection, working abroad most of the year. Having a (now 3 year old) son and Gf at home made me want to try get a 'normal' job at home as the time away was getting a bit too much.
I've been lucky enough to get an Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering,I say lucky as I'm now 23 and most employers want school leavers. This apprenticeship starts in 3 weeks. I'm currently in a 996 turbo, which tbh, just isn't going to be practical/do-able anymore. I've been looking at getting rid of the Porsche (expecting to put it up around the 20k mark, and get a Supra for around 5k. I have savings,so the drop in wage isn't really going to matter massively, and the daily drive will be a 6 mile round trip. My question is,after the Porsche,is the 4upra going to feel crap? I've had a Supra TT when I was 20,which I loved, but not been in one since... Has anyone else gone from a great car into a good one? Kind of a strange question really, but I'm just worried although it seems a good idea, its an idea I'm going to regret...

Could you need spend a bit more and get a rz manual with some standard mods to bring the bhp up a bit? 4-500bhp ones of mkivsupra oc might be good value for money and looked after.

They are no 996 turbo but still an epic car with awesome performance with not many mods

Yeah that's what I think,a family friend is currently selling an aerotop, that's running around 400bhp,its great but the only problem is it being an auto. The more I think about it,the more I do want to be back into a Supra,I miss the noise n the sheer stupidness of it.

10k would get you a mint one alot more than what you want to spend. other option would be a r32/33 gtr can get ok ones for 7-10k

for inspiration go find JamieP's thread on his 1200bhp supra haha biggrin

Those Darin's Supra vid are ace, but as much as I love Japanese performance cars it will feel a bit low-rent after a 911 Turbo, but on the other hand that might be a nice thing, a bit of rawness might give it a real thrilling edge.
