Hi, My name is Will, I'm 16. I live in Halstead, Essex and am into basically anything with an engine which is why I joined. I've been interested in anything mechanical from a very young age. Just finished my Level 1 in motor vehicle as a part time course 1 day a week through school. I've now bought my first set (more like a pair) of wheels which I've just finished completely rebuilding. I'm also quite heavily into welding of all types (my first welder was a Christmas present at the age of 12) as well as general metalwork and general engineering. I'm starting an Engineering apprenticeship at the end of August this year.

Hope this post is in the right place.

Welcome wavey

Reads like you are a decent wee yoof - you like welding and things that internally combust (and you can spell and punctuate well enough to appease the resident grammar police) hehe

What bike have you fixed up?

I used to drive through there occasionally -- was there a nice exotic car dealer on an 'S' Bend?

Must have been 10 years ago I guess -- I think it was called Europa Cars. I used to work in Ipswich and ended up going your way when they were doing roadworks on the A12. Was quite a nice run through Halstead and Sudbury to Braintree, then connect with the A120.

Hi Will and welcome. Keep an eye on the Kent and Essex forum on here, you'll find out about various local events that you'll enjoy if you can get yourself over to them, with some nice cars to boot.

I look forward to your ban. Totally inappropriate. In fact, reported.

OP, welcome! thumbup

You sound like my brother, 30 odd years ago, dragging home abandoned bikes. He is now a mechanical engineer master etc. Builds custom bikes for the American market, so good luck. Also, if you feel like changing from 'devil 2 wheel machines' to much nicer 4 wheels wink and would like a really incredible career, look up www.F1jobs.com and start writing a couple of emails.

Good luck young chap!

Welcome from me.
Oh dear, 16 and two wheels, takes me back 47 years and a BSA Bantam, 125cc of two stroke power.
Lots of down the road, then bigger 'bikes, the hospital stay.
You take care youngun.

Bit harsh. It was only a joke.

Welcome, I'm from Sudbury, like the chap a few posts above!
And the dealer in halstead was indeed Europa Cars, many many years ago, I remember making my dad stop out side the window as there was a Ferrari F40 in there, god knows how old I was but it must have been getting on 15 years ago!
Just bought a car from Halstead yesterday actually. Not the aforementioned F40 though frown
Best of luck with your welding/mechanical projects.
