Looking for anyone with real world experience of the above. Have a maximum of £25k to spend, must be a Coupe and must have auto box. Main use will be long distance European work hence the need for diesel - comfort and load space also a priority but a bit of character would be welcome - hard I appreciate from a diesel coupe!

BMW, every day of the week for me, given your budget.

Having said that, A5 TDI is one of my favourites...just that against the Beemer, its well outgunned!

Whenever I see a whatcar thread, I just want the OP to test drive the prospects and report back with findings.
Maybe you should do that, I like reading non journalistic reviews of cars.

Based on the fact that you will be spending a lot of time behind the wheel and comfort is a must then Audi for me of that lot as they make the best cabins out there and are driver focused. I can't fault the A5's interior and finish at all but the 6 series and E350 are just not up to that of the Audi.

The 3.0TDi Quattro is an option and will be a major bonus in the winter across Europe and won't leave you stranded like the other two. DSG box is also really nice.

Go and test drive all three and play with the equipment.

That is a big asumption to make BMWs are good in snow ice if fitted with correct tyres, i would say BMW based on the 635 engine being the best in class also they have fine interiours and are great looking

Thanks for the input so far, winter driving won't be an issue as I'll be parting with it in October. Must admit it's the BMW that's floating my boat so far as it seems the best value when you consider it's really from the class above the A5/E Coupe, also got the best engine.

An odd list. The A5 is the odd one out, its a 3 series coupe rival not a big GT. The 635 is also a previous gen car which just leaves the Mercedes-Benz.

I would pick none of them and spend a little more on an F10 5 Series.
