I lent my car car to my sis and her hubby for 3 weeks when they were over from Australia. Put them on my insurance etc. I would do the same for a trusted friend I think.

A couple of friends - yes

After seeing how certain 'friends' treat company and hire cars - NO WAY!

And those friends with lacking mechanical sympathy - Hell no!

Yes, if properly insured, I trusted their driving and it wasn't a car I particularly cared about.

To be fair my car is an R reg fiesta 1.4 so not of great monetry value, however I do rely on it heavily (wasn't easy going without it for 3 weeks!!) so I wouldn't just hand it to anyone, I'd neeed to feel confident that they were reliable drivers!

Forester , no problem and already lent it out a few times. Strictly on the understanding that if they break it they buy me a new one (£800)

Monaro, no way is anyone else driving it.

You bend, you mend.

So as long as they could afford the damage repair bill, yes.

Yes and she offered to lend me hers recently after mine had a smashed window and I had an impending job interview!

THIS.

Work car yes, gladly. My POJ no way, i do enough damage to it without a friend doing their share.

Not a chance.

The closest I've come was letting my girlfriend drive my car. Two kerbed wheels later, we both agreed she shouldn't drive it again.

I'd never let any woman drive my car. I let my dad drive any car I own and he will have a go on the motorbike when I am home in summer too smile
