That poor guy, being picked on by those nasty police officers. All he did was drink drive, attempt to out run cops, resist arrest and have a prior conviction for robbery.

Sorry, are you trying to justify the police brutality?

No, but making the point this was not some innocent man pulled over for no other reason than his skin colour.

There was an interview with him on radio world service , on a week or two ago .

He sounded fairly reasonable to be honest .

Maybe some clever person could link to it

So he deserved to be beaten?

The point is plenty of white men who drunk drive, outrun police, resist arrest and have prior convictions were not beaten almost to death with those responsible being wrongly acquitted.

I think people were more worried about the beating the st out of him bit rather than the had he done something wrong bit.

Rubbish. White men who do the same and get brutalized simply dont attract media attention, reach the news and have Al sharpton, Jesse Jackson et al make it of international significance.

Its like this current Trayvon Martin crap, all we hear is 'if it would have been the other way round the black shooter would be behind bars immediately'
Well, a couple of weeks later a white guy bothered a black guy. Black guy shot the white in 'self defense' and cops agreed. Never made many headlines becau a white guy was dead and not a black guy.

Forget the name, but another black guy in NYC killed a young italian american in similar circumstances a few months before the Trayvon case, pleaded self defense, got off.

If Rodney king had happened to have been white it wouldn't have even made local news that night...

You do realise that two of them were sent to jail don't you?
ETA: and quite rightly so.

Could you please go back to your nissan bluebird and never come out, because it's people like you who make comments like that about somebody they dont even know who do not deserve a place in the society. How small minded can you get?

I find it ridiculous people are making comments about what he did on the night he got beaten, is that relevant? Did he deserve it? It's totally irrelevant and it just shows how foolish some of you are that you seem to be finding some sort of justification for what happened.

Wake up and realise we live in a society that has terrible history regarding black people and believe it or not back then especially these type of incidents occur more often in these countries with the minorities. Saddening to see the reactions, at the death of someone who changed the world for the better, tells me a lot about the people who are commenting.
